SEDE 101
If Awake is your morning scent, here's a technique to pair with it — a hot-to-cool shower ritual that's genuinely invigorating, no willpower required beyond the first ten seconds.
The Idea
Start your shower warm to hot, as usual. Then, before you finish, shift the water to cool — not freezing, just enough to notice — and work through a simple pattern before stepping out.
The Technique
-
Start at your feet. Direct the cooler water to the outside of your right foot — the point farthest from your heart — then trace it up the outside of your leg to your hip.
-
From there, move to the inside of your thigh and back down to your foot.
-
Repeat on your left leg.
-
Once you're feeling more awake, move to your arms: start on the back of your right hand, direct the water up to your shoulder, then cool the inside of your arm back down to your palm.
-
Repeat on your left arm.
-
Finish, step out, and dry off.
Why Bother With the Cold Part
This isn't about enduring discomfort for its own sake — it's about the jolt. A shift from warm to cool water is genuinely energizing, the kind of wake-up that a warm shower alone doesn't quite deliver. Skin often feels refreshed and invigorated afterward, in the same way a brisk walk outside does. Think of it as a built-in reset button before your day starts.
Pair It With Awake
This technique works especially well paired with SEDE Awake Body Wash — do the alternating rinse as your final step, using Awake beforehand for the bright, citrus start to the shower itself.
Finish the Ritual
Once you're out and dry, this is the moment to layer in your Magnesium Oil and Lotion:
-
Oil first — shake well, spray 4-5 times, massage in.
-
Lotion second — apply generously to seal it in.
Two minutes, and your morning ritual is complete — cool water to wake up, warm layers to finish.
